Hello and happy May!!

The last few weeks have been packed with cool things, from stills from the MY LADY JANE show being released (holy crap!!) and the NIGHTRENDER paperback coming out. I also got ARCs of my next solo book!

No cats this newsletter because it’s already so image heavy. Anyway . . .

Conferences and festivals

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Texas Library Association conference, where I didn’t get any photos but I did meet lots of librarians and give out dozens of hand-knit coffee cup sleeves. I also ate a really good piece of cake. I wish I were still eating it.

The weekend after that, I headed to North Texas Teen Book Festival, which is one of my favorite book festivals! It was a ton of fun and I got to see so many authors friends, longtime readers, and meet new people! Anyway, I took . . . a picture.

Speaking of book festivals, I will be at Gaithersburg Book Festival next weekend, on May 18! If you’re in the area, come see me!

NIGHTRENDER paperback

I don’t celebrate the paperback releases enough, so I’m trying to fix that. This week, the lovely, floppy paperback came out! If you’ve been waiting to read my dark fantasy (with a dash of romance) in paperback, now’s your chance!

MY LADY JANE show updates!

I know this is why you opened this email. So here’s the updates — we have stills from the show! And a release date!

The first season will be dropping on June 27 on Prime. This article has a bunch of photos, as well as an interview with Gemma Burgess and Meredith Glynn, the co-showrunners. (I kind of love that a cowritten book has co-showrunners!)

I shouldn’t share all the photos, probably for legal reasons, but definitely for attachment-size reasons, but here’s the first one I saw and . . . the gasp I gasped.

Seriously, go look at all the images — there are a bunch in there and they’re so cool. I have gazed at them for many hours by now.

And just in case you haven’t already got a copy of the book, may I recommend jumping on that?? Right now, you can still get the 2016 hardcover and 2017 paperback, but on June 11, the tie-in edition is going to release and I don’t know how available the older editions will be. Also, we’ve already noticed a jump in sales (hooray — your narrator here has cat food to buy) on those older editions, and stock has been running low in some places. So if having the original editions are important to you, don’t wait!

BYE FOREVER, I GUESS advance copies!

Aaaand ARCs for my first middle-grade book have arrived! Look how pretty they are.

And look! The text messages in the book are actually formatted like text messages! This was really, really important to me — because I think it gives the reader another level of immersion — and I’m thrilled that my publisher was able to make it happen. There are also emojis! (But not on this page.)
