Happy November! I’m going to jump right into the thing you opened this newsletter for:
If you somehow missed it, MY LADY JANE is going to be a TV show on Prime Video! For real. It’s filming right now! Check out the announcement with the casting announcement for the lead actors!
And today we have more casting news! Here’s a huge list of amazing actors who will also be in the show!
I’m really excited to watch this show. I hope you are, too!
Over the last few weeks, I’ve had some unexpected time off. That’s left me with lots of audiobooks and yarn to occupy my days. You can check out my latest yarn post to see what I’ve been knitting.
Audiobooks have really helped me catch up on my reading goal for this year. I’ve finished a bunch of books. Some of the standouts (for me!) were:
Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett (adult fantasy) - lots of fun, for fans of Sanderson but with more swearing
Ancestral Night by Elizabeth Bear (adult scifi) - for my fellow space nerds, with lots of cool aliens and spaceships
The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart (adult fantasy) - fantastic magic system and a character with Flynn Rider vibes
Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson (YA fantasy) - incredible characters, worldbuildling, and writing
There were a bunch more that I really enjoyed, too. It’s really been a good run of books for me lately! And if any of the books I mentioned here sound remotely interesting to you, I think you should read them. (You can get them from Bookshop - linked on the authors’ names above.)
Have you read anything amazing lately? What should I put on my TBR?
I’ve also sent out several writing-related newsletters to the folks who subscribe to those.
If you want to get these posts in your inbox as I send them, make sure you opt-in. You can do that here. There isn’t a set schedule for any of these — the rate they come will really depend on how much time I have and if I have anything to talk about. And if you have questions, feel free to ask them!
Okay, that’s it for now. I’m pretty sure my deadlines are coming to get me soon, so I’m getting back to enjoying these last few days of reading, playing with yarn, and — um — tinkering with a new book.
Wow, that's amazing news about your TV series! Rob Brydon is pretty amazing, can't wait to see who he plays!
Congratultions Jodi!!!! I cant wait to watch! I've had my eye on Foundryside for a while so I am going to have to go for it!
