I love the concept of hand-crafted coffee sleeves, with or without buttons. Although the button and loop style always struck me as sweaters for my coffee. Cute, right? But I do love the slide-on style just as much. I made a sleeve years ago to try out a new-to-me circular needle. Feel in love with the needle, gave the sleeve away.
I need more. Thank you for reminding me of that. *grin* Both circulars and sleeves, LOL. Although my Zing DPN's are pretty terrific too.
They're SO easy and make good gifts for people when you need something last-minute. I've made some of the button ones too, but those take a little more effort than I'm usually capable of traveling with!
I usually just use DPNs; I have some Brittany and Lantern Moon ones in my knitting travel bag. I like big circulars (for magic loop) on things like socks.
I have knit some for mugs, but I don't have a simple pattern of my own. Mug cozies require something to fasten the sleeve closed with -- so either a button you need to sew on, or a knitted button. They're not quite as easy to do on the go.
But the pattern I used when I made some for a friend was "Fancy Mug Cozy" by Kirsten Hipsky.

What's your preferred needle for sleeves?

Brittany and Lantern Moon? Never heard of those. Must go look them up! (I'm a big fan the fiber content, so keep up the good work!)
Love it!!! ๐๐โโ Do you do the sleeves for cups that have handles too?
Sorry I missed this comment before!
